During their participation in disaster relief efforts following an earthquake in the Playa Grande area of La Guaira state, Venezuela, the Vietnamese rescue team identified 11 suspected locations of victims and commenced search and rescue operations on June 30 (local time). The death toll from the earthquake in Venezuela has risen to over 1,900 people. The Venezuelan government has expressed its gratitude for Vietnam's support and solidarity. Vietnam has provided comprehensive assistance, including sending a special charter flight carrying 46.8 tons of aid to Venezuela.
