Authorities in Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia, conducted a search on June 28 of two locations suspected of housing foreigners involved in online scams and other criminal activities. The operation was carried out under the strict orders of the National Police Chief, led by the Deputy National Police Chief, the Provincial Administrative Unity Command, and the Poipet City Administration. The targeted locations were in Kbal Spean 1 Village, O Chrov Commune, Poipet City. In the first location, a 5-story building with 47 rooms was found to be inhabited by 81 Indonesian nationals (no women). However, no evidence directly related to online scams was discovered at this site. At the second location, a search was scheduled for 10:30 AM. The Indonesian nationals apprehended have been transferred to the immigration authorities for questioning and further proceedings.
