Chairman of the Central Committee and Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, Dr. Khin Naing Oo, stated that the strong Mandalay earthquake caused damage and losses to many individuals, including civil servants, in six regions and states, including the Union Territory of Nay Pyi Taw. He explained that the Central Committee for Supervising the Reconstruction Fund was formed and tasked with supporting loan programs using funds contributed by the state to help rebuild the lives of the people and businesses. He added that the Central Committee must review and decide on the loan applications submitted by the working group in accordance with the standards and criteria set forth in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for loans, and that it is necessary to achieve success as these are priority projects of the state government. The meeting was attended by members of the Central Committee, including Deputy Ministers from the Ministry of Planning and Finance, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Construction, as well as the Secretary of the National Disaster Management Committee, the Deputy Auditor General, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, the Ministry of Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, and the Central Bank of Myanmar, and members of the supporting working group. At the meeting, 11 loan cases submitted by six banks and one finance company out of the ten banks and two finance companies approved for the loan program were presented. It was revealed that the members of the Central Committee reviewed and approved a total of 10 loans, including for three civil servants and seven businesses, with a loan amount of 6.86 billion kyats.
