Two suspects arrested after hospital motorcycle theft, evade capture for six days
Phnom Penh police have arrested two suspects in connection with a motorcycle theft at Pochentong Central Hospital. The suspects, who had evaded capture for six days after the incident on July 18, 2026, were apprehended based on security camera footage. The stolen motorcycle had already been resold.
In Phnom Penh, two suspects have been arrested in connection with a motorcycle theft that occurred within the grounds of Pochentong Central Hospital. The police, in collaboration with the Kakap 1st District Police, investigated using security camera footage and apprehended the two suspects six days after the incident. The theft took place around 3:30 AM on July 18, 2026, within the Pochentong Central Hospital premises in Kakap 1st District, Po Sen Chey District. The arrested individuals are Chit Dara Pao, 39, and Thon Vira Bot, 32, both reportedly unemployed. They are alleged to have used a modified motorcycle as their getaway vehicle. Authorities seized the modified motorcycle, a modified knife believed to belong to the suspects, and the license plate of the stolen motorcycle. The stolen motorcycle was a black Honda Dream 125, manufactured in 2026, with license plate Phnom Penh 1LY-9631. It belonged to Sam Mattno, a 37-year-old factory worker. The suspects had reportedly removed the license plate from the stolen motorcycle and had already sold it.
