Cambodian Parliament to Host International Conference on Peace, Economy, and Climate Change

The Cambodian Parliament is advancing its action plan and technical preparations for hosting an international conference and workshop on 'Peace, Economy, and Climate Change' to strengthen international cooperation and address global challenges. This key initiative was discussed in detail during a working meeting chaired by His Excellency Cheang Vun, Chairman of the National Assembly's Economy, Finance, Banking, and Auditing Committee and Vice President of the Cambodian Parliamentary Group of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly (APF), on August 31st at the Parliament building. The meeting was attended by APF members and specialized officials from the General Secretariat of the National Assembly. During the session, the meeting focused on summarizing and evaluating the results of the participation of Cambodian parliamentary representatives in the 51st session of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly and previous international meetings. This aims to share experiences and enhance the effectiveness of parliamentary diplomacy. Concurrently, a comprehensive discussion was held on the technical aspects of preparing for the meetings of the APF's Education, Culture, and Relations Committee and its Network of Parliamentarians Fighting Global Pandemics. Preparations are also underway for a technical-level workshop under the theme 'Peace, Economy, and Climate Change,' intended to deepen understanding and strengthen international partnerships on ongoing global issues. The meeting concluded with the acquisition of numerous key inputs and recommendations to serve the implementation of parliamentary diplomacy activities within the APF framework more effectively and yield fruitful results.
