Hanoi Tax Department Enhances Tax Policy Dissemination via SMS
The Hanoi Tax Department has launched a new initiative to rapidly and efficiently deliver tax-related legal information and procedures to citizens and businesses via SMS. This is part of digital transformation efforts and taxpayer support, aiming to enhance tax compliance.
In Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, the tax department is innovating its taxpayer communication by enhancing the dissemination of tax laws and policies through SMS (Short Message Service). This initiative is being implemented with the aim of advancing digital transformation in tax administration and diversifying taxpayer support methods. SMS messages, displayed under the sender name “THUE_HANOI,” are designed to provide individuals and small businesses within Hanoi with rapid and convenient access to the latest information on tax laws and policies, guidance on fulfilling tax obligations, important deadlines and procedures, and necessary support information for their business operations. A representative from the Hanoi Tax Department stated that this SMS channel is expected to promptly disseminate tax-related directives, policies, and legal regulations, while also effectively reminding taxpayers of their obligations and deadlines, thereby reducing instances of missed filings or non-compliance. This new communication method is intended to foster greater proactivity and tax law compliance among taxpayers, serving as an official, convenient, and swift channel that accompanies individuals and businesses in meeting their fiscal responsibilities to the state budget. The Hanoi Tax Department advises individuals and small businesses to regularly check their mobile messages for information, guidance, and notifications sent from the “THUE_HANOI” channel. The content conveyed via SMS is for the purpose of informing, guiding, supporting, and reminding taxpayers to comply with tax laws. The department affirmed its commitment to continuously innovating communication methods, strengthening the application of technology, and diversifying support channels. The goal is to make tax policies more accessible to taxpayers – delivered timely, accurately, and easily – thereby contributing to the establishment of a transparent and favorable business environment in the capital and improving tax law compliance rates.
