A man, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, died after being struck by Special Express Train No. 10 on the Chiang Mai to Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal route in Lampang province. The incident occurred around 8:35 p.m. on July 9 near Black Bridge in Ban Thap Mak, Bo Haeo subdistrict, Mueang Lampang district. The train, an air-conditioned sleeper service traveling south from Chiang Mai, had its driver spot the man on the tracks ahead. According to initial reports, the man continued walking without turning or moving away, even after the driver sounded the horn multiple times. Due to the train's proximity to the man, the driver engaged the emergency braking system. However, the train's size, weight, and speed prevented it from stopping before impact. The man sustained severe injuries, including bleeding from his head and nose, and died at the scene.
