Social Housing Project Kicks Off in Bac Ninh City, Addressing Housing Needs

A groundbreaking ceremony for a social housing project took place on September 25th in the No. 3 Residential Area, Da Mai Ward, Bac Ninh City, northern Vietnam. The project, situated on approximately 7,000 square meters, will feature a 19-story residential building with a one-story basement parking lot, offering around 490 units. This is expected to provide housing for nearly 1,000 people and contribute to improving the quality of life for local residents. The total investment for the project is estimated at nearly VND 806 billion (approximately USD 32 million). Attendees at the ceremony included Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Secretary of the Bac Ninh City Party Committee, and Mr. Pham Van Thinh, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh City People's Committee. Mr. Ngo Van Son, Director of Lam Son Construction and Trading Co., Ltd., the project developer, stated, "Our goal is not only to complete the project but to create apartments that are of high quality, safe, affordable, and offer good usability, so that every family can settle in with peace of mind and build a long-term life." Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh emphasized that the project is a concrete step in implementing the Party and Government's policy to develop at least 1 million social housing units nationwide. Bac Ninh City is currently undertaking 76 urban development projects with a total investment of approximately VND 84 trillion (around USD 3.3 billion) and 65 social and worker housing projects totaling about VND 79 trillion (around USD 3.1 billion). The city aims to supply 135,000 social housing units between 2025 and 2030. Thinh highlighted the project's significance beyond just housing provision, noting its role in supplementing commercial, service, and community spaces, thereby fostering a civilized, safe, and convenient living environment. He also instructed that the sale and rental of social housing units must be transparent and fair, strictly preventing policy abuse, loss, and waste. Bac Ninh City is committed to maintaining a transparent and favorable investment environment, promptly resolving issues within its authority, and ensuring the project's timely completion with high quality, contributing to the development of the city.
