CPP Holds Political Education Course for Cadre Development

On the morning of June 29, 2026, the Education and Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) held the opening ceremony for the 25th Level 2 Political Education Course at the 7 January Palace in Phnom Penh. The ceremony was presided over by His Excellency Mam Sarin, Standing Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Cabinet of the Central Committee. Distinguished guests included His Excellency Tak Sun'euy, Standing Member of the Standing Committee and Chairman of the Education and Propaganda Department of the Central Committee, along with leaders from institutions around the Central Committee. His Excellency Mam Sarin expressed his delight in presiding over the opening of the Level 2 Political Education Course, symbolizing the strength of the party. He conveyed greetings and best wishes from the Party President, Honorary President, Vice President, and all party leaders to the attendees. Speaking at the ceremony, His Excellency Mam Sarin posed the question: "Why do our party officials need to study political courses?" He clarified that "politics" here refers to the methods, art, or techniques of governing and administering the state. Therefore, it is essential for party officials to understand the party's political views, stance, principles, and policies, all of which are theories or methods related to the party's state governance. He further stated that political education aims to provide officials with a strong foundation of confidence in the party's leadership, enhance their capabilities and virtues, and enable them to perform their duties effectively, particularly by actively participating in the implementation of the party's political programs at each stage. His Excellency highlighted that the inclusion of Materialist Dialectics philosophy in this Level 2 course is of great concern to the Party President, Samdech Hun Sen. Samdech Hun Sen has previously stated that party officials, as successors, have studied various specializations from many different countries worldwide. He emphasized that our officials should all be trained in this course and in scientific methods of critical thinking to facilitate their work together. His Excellency Mam Sarin remarked that despite Cambodia facing impacts from regional and global events, especially the invasion of Cambodian territory by Thailand along the border and the machinations of a small group of extremist opposition, Cambodia continues to maintain internal peace, political stability, security, order, and strong social safety. These are essential prerequisites for ensuring the people's happy living and for economic and social development. To ensure the political education course achieves its expected excellent results, His Excellency Mam Sarin offered several points: The Education and Propaganda Department, responsible for managing the course, should diligently fulfill its duties and resolve any related issues. All lecturers, being competent and capable, should generously share their knowledge and experience with the trainees. All trainees should focus on their studies, respect internal regulations and the course's discipline with vigilance and high responsibility, worthy of their reputation as good party officials. The aim is for the knowledge and experience gained to serve the nation, people, and party even better. Everyone should pay attention to maintaining physical and mental health, fostering friendship and solidarity among trainees, between the management, lecturers, and trainees, and between trainees and the course's supporting staff, with understanding and harmony. His Excellency Mam Sarin expressed confidence that this political education course will yield excellent results in line with its objectives and requirements, further contributing to strengthening the party's cadre base.
