Cambodia-India Boost Investment Cooperation in Kampong Chhnang Province

Kampong Chhnang Provincial Governor, H.E. Sun Sovannarith, held a meeting with H.E. Vunlalwana Bavithlung, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his delegation at the provincial hall on August 31, 2026. The meeting was also attended by H.E. Siv Run, Chairman of the Provincial Council, provincial administration officials, and Indian Embassy officers. During the occasion, H.E. Sun Sovannarith stated that the Royal Government of Cambodia is actively promoting liberalization in investment, strengthening investment cooperation, facilitating investment, enhancing investment regulations, and providing transparent investment protection for investors of one party on the territory of the other party, based on equality and mutual benefit. This reflects the shared commitment of all countries to create and promote the ASEAN-India trade and investment region, which includes a free trade area for goods, services, and investment. He further added that Kampong Chhnang is a fortunate province with many companies investing in it, and India is a country with high technology in both commerce and industry. Through this cooperation, Cambodia will achieve further development. Cambodia and India are pushing for stronger investment between the two countries. H.E. Vunlalwana Bavithlung expressed support for Cambodia-India cooperation and further strengthening investment between the two countries, following the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Republic of India. Following the meeting and working discussions, the Ambassador and his delegation visited the Ancestral Heritage Vocational Training Center (Pottery) in Andoung Reussi village, Sre Thmei commune, Roliepbier district, Kampong Chhnang province.
