The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training has called on former workers returning from countries like Thailand, as well as domestic job seekers, to register for employment opportunities within Cambodia, following directives from Prime Minister Hun Manet. The ministry announced that there are currently over 90,000 job openings nationwide. Sun Mesa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, urged returning migrant workers and Cambodian citizens seeking employment domestically to contact the hotline number 1297 for swift access to job opportunities. "There are approximately over 90,000 job opportunities in Cambodia, especially in the industrial sector, offering positions to our strong citizens regardless of their experience. Therefore, Cambodian nationals or workers seeking employment should contact phone number 1297 to get jobs immediately," he stated. Concurrently, the ministry reminded Cambodian citizens not to risk illegal border crossings to work in Thailand, especially as tensions persist along the border between the two countries. Risks associated with illegal migration include exploitation by employers, lack of legally mandated benefits, or detention by authorities in the host country.
