Phnom Penh's Dangkao District Organizes Street Vendors for Smoother Traffic Flow
Dangkao District in Phnom Penh has instructed street vendors to organize themselves on public sidewalks. This measure aims to facilitate pedestrian and vehicular traffic and enhance citizen convenience. District authorities have also addressed sidewalk encroachments and removed signs and structures.
The Administrative Unity Command of Dangkao District, Phnom Penh, has ordered street vendors to organize themselves on public sidewalks to enhance convenience for citizens' traffic and walking. Specifically, on September 3, 2026, a force led by Deputy District Governor Bun Narom, representing District Governor Kim Nyib, was deployed to instruct street vendors to arrange themselves in an orderly manner on public sidewalks. This is to make the traffic for citizens on public sidewalks smoother. According to authorities, following instructions from Dangkao District Governor Kim Nyib, Deputy District Governor Bun Narom led the force to organize street vendors along the agricultural road (so-called) in Khva village, Dangkao commune, Dangkao district, Phnom Penh, from the Chunka Doung traffic light to in front of the Agricultural School, ensuring order. Simultaneously, structures such as zinc awnings, signs, and stone curbs crossing the road were removed.
