Cambodia: Authorities Investigating Traffic Accident Involving Government Vehicle and Motorcycle

A traffic accident involving a government-plated vehicle and a motorcycle occurred in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. The incident resulted in injuries to the motorcyclist, who is reported to have sustained a fractured leg. The accident took place on the night of September 9th, on Oknha Mong Puthy Street in Koh Anlong Chrey village, Touk Sangke 2 commune, Rusey Keo district. The vehicles involved were a MAZDA sedan with government license plate '10 2-2376' and a HONDA DREAM motorcycle with license plate '1GG-3874'. Following the accident, the driver of the government vehicle reportedly fled the scene and entered a nearby residential area, leaving the car abandoned. Authorities from the Touk Sangke 2 commune police post arrived at the scene and questioned residents and security personnel from the residential area. It was reported that the parties involved attempted to reach a settlement on-site before the police arrived. However, officials from the Traffic Police Office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, in cooperation with forces from the Touk Sangke 2 commune police post, are currently investigating the incident to proceed with legal procedures.
