Four Rescued After Speedboat Capsizes Off Chonburi Coast

Four people were rescued after a speedboat sank in rough seas near Koh Khram off the Sattahip district in Chonburi on Friday evening. The incident occurred around 5:30 PM on July 24, approximately 12 nautical miles from the coast. Initial reports suggest that strong winds and high waves caused the vessel to founder, rendering it unable to continue its journey. The four individuals on board consisted of two foreign men and two Thai women. The Pattaya Marine Rescue Unit 501 and water rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation responded to the incident and successfully pulled all four from the water. No serious injuries were initially reported. Following the rescue, foundation personnel towed the damaged speedboat to shore in the Bang Saray area for inspection. However, the Pattaya rescue boat involved in the operation was initially unable to return to shore due to continuing rough conditions. The crew took shelter behind an island while waiting for the weather to improve. Sea conditions at the time of the incident were reported to be at level three to four.
