Cambodian Foreign Minister Visits Malaysia to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prak Sokhonn, departed for Malaysia on the morning of August 3, 2026, for an official visit. The visit is in response to an invitation from his Malaysian counterpart and will take place from August 3rd to 4th, 2026. According to a statement from the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during this visit, Minister Prak Sokhonn will co-chair the Joint Commission between the two countries with Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hassan. The meeting will focus on discussions to strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation. The Cambodia-Malaysia Joint Commission meeting, to be held in Kuala Lumpur, will be the third such session. It will review the progress achieved in previous meetings and examine agreements reached between the two parties. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this meeting will outline specific measures to further deepen cooperation, injecting new momentum into the robust and multifaceted relationship between Cambodia and Malaysia. According to the schedule released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to co-chairing the meeting with Minister Mohamad Hassan, Minister Prak Sokhonn is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
