Cambodia Prepares to Host 2nd Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of AIPA in August

The Cambodian Senate and National Assembly, the country's legislative bodies, convened a joint meeting on July 20 to prepare for the "2nd Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of AIPA" (ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly) scheduled to be held in August 2026. The meeting took place at the Senate building in Phnom Penh and was attended by senior officials, members of both chambers, and leaders from the General Secretariats of the respective institutions. The session was co-chaired by H.E. Uch Borith, First Vice-President of the Senate, and H.E. Dr. Kem Yiep, First Vice-President of the National Assembly (Honorable Minister of Economy). The primary objective of the meeting was to review, evaluate, and develop comprehensive plans covering the agenda, protocol, and security arrangements necessary for the successful hosting of the "2nd Conference of Presidents of Parliaments of AIPA." It was emphasized that securing the hosting rights for this significant international conference represents another new achievement for Cambodia in elevating its national prestige on the international stage. The conference is expected to contribute to strengthening regional and international cooperation.
