In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, authorities in Sen Sok District have implemented strict measures to clear roadside encroachments, including the removal of signs, which has led to temporary traffic congestion. The administrative action took place on the morning of September 1, 2026, along Street 271 in Sangkat Ou Baek Korm, Sen Sok District. This measure was initiated after a portion of the public failed to comply with earlier directives to remove items encroaching on sidewalks. According to the Sen Sok District Administration, prior to this operation, notices were issued and distributed to residents and businesses along the western side of Street 271. These notices instructed them to remove signs and other materials extending beyond the demarcated road axis. While many residents cooperated and removed their belongings, some signs remained. Consequently, on September 1, 2026, a task force from the Sen Sok District Administration, in collaboration with the Sangkat authorities, proceeded with cutting down and removing the remaining signs.
