Cambodia: Iron Bar Attack Leaves One Dead, Three Injured; Suspect Arrested
An iron bar attack in Cambodia's Kampong Speu province on the 28th resulted in one death and three people sustaining serious to minor injuries. Police immediately arrested the 39-year-old suspect and are proceeding with the investigation.
In Kampong Speu province, Cambodia, a violent assault using an iron bar occurred on the afternoon of July 28, 2024, resulting in one fatality and three individuals sustaining serious to minor injuries. The investigation was led by a special task force commanded by Colonel Sao Safek, Chief of Police of Samaki Munychey District, under the high directives of Major General Khim Sokha, Police Commissioner of Kampong Speu Province, and guidance from the Deputy Commissioner for expertise. The incident took place in Trapeang Skun village, Phuang Luva commune, Samaki Munychey district. The suspect, identified as a 39-year-old male, allegedly used an iron bar to attack four victims. One victim, identified as 70-year-old Mr. Nout San, died from his injuries. Three others, Mr. Leng Van (41), Mr. Douf Borom (43), and Mr. Chhuon Chhuon (57), suffered serious to minor injuries. The suspect also reportedly destroyed one of the victim's motorcycles. Special forces at the scene immediately apprehended the suspect and transferred him to the Samaki Munychey District Police Inspectorate to proceed with legal procedures.
