Oudom Meanchey Province Holds Information and Rapid Response Team Meeting to Combat Disinformation and Enhance Communication

Oudom Meanchey Province, located in northwestern Cambodia, held a meeting of its Information and Rapid Response Team on September 2, 2026, at the provincial hall. The meeting was led by Deputy Governor Met Measakdey, who also serves as the provincial head of the Information and Rapid Response Team. He emphasized the importance of enhancing the efficiency of information dissemination, improving the quality of the media sector, and responding promptly to and clarifying false information. The meeting was attended by members of the provincial Information and Rapid Response Team, as well as numerous representatives from various ministries, national police, military, gendarmerie, and local authorities at the district and commune levels. Deputy Governor Met Measakdey highlighted the crucial role of the information sector in the digital era. He stated that strengthening the quality of information, monitoring the situation, and responding in a timely manner to false information are top priorities for the province to protect public security, tranquility, and order. He added that all information disseminated by state institutions must have clear sources, be comprehensive, technically sound, and reflect the reality of construction and development activities in the locality. Furthermore, the Deputy Governor stressed the need to reinforce cooperation between the provincial information team and relevant ministries, local authorities, and professional journalists to ensure that information flows and is distributed quickly and effectively. He concluded by commending the Information Team for their diligent efforts in fulfilling their duties and urged them to continue to work with a high sense of responsibility to increase public confidence in the leadership of the provincial and national governments.
