Cambodia: Military Police Continue Hotline 1292 Outreach for Emergency Citizen Intervention

The Kampong Speu Provincial Military Police are continuing their campaign to publicize the emergency hotline "1292" to strengthen intervention in emergencies faced by residents within their jurisdiction. Following the directives of Major General Meng Srun, Commander of the Kampong Speu Provincial Military Police, a unit from the Samrong Tong District Military Police conducted an outreach campaign for hotline 1292 in Kaheng Commune, Samrong Tong District, on August 6, 2024. The activity was attended by the Kaheng Commune Chief, village chiefs, village self-defense forces, and local residents. The military police working group explained the benefits and usage of hotline 1292, emphasizing its 24-hour operational status. Major General Meng Srun urged residents in Kampong Speu province who encounter any incidents or accidents requiring intervention or rescue from the Military Police to contact the toll-free hotline 1292. The hotline is available 24/7 and can also be reached via messaging apps such as Telegram, WhatsApp, CoolApp, and by phone at 010 61 68 68. This initiative is seen as an effort to deepen cooperation with local authorities and foster an environment where residents can live with peace of mind. Establishing a system for rapid information transmission and intervention during emergencies plays a crucial role in ensuring community safety.
