President Inspects National Library and Museum

President U Min Aung Hlaing visited and inspected the National Library (Yangon) and the National Museum (Yangon). At the National Library (Yangon), the library official-in-charge gave a presentation covering a brief history of the library, its operational processes, the implementation of digital library initiatives, library services, and ongoing activities to disseminate library science. In response to the presentation, the President stated that library science dissemination activities must be systematically implemented. He highlighted that the National Library (Yangon) is a historic national institution; therefore, valuable historical books and publications must be fully preserved, as historical evidence reflects the true image and cultural values of the nation. He added that beyond standard libraries, public libraries stocked with complete collections of historically priceless and valuable books, literature, publications, and newspapers should be developed in major populated cities across regions and states. And, the President inspected the setup of reading rooms and displayed books and publications across various sections, including the Digital Library, the Reference Reading Room, General Reading Room, and Rare Books Room on the second floor, the Children's Library on the third floor, and the Data Center, bookshelf room, and mini-gallery on the ground floor, giving instructions as necessary. Afterward, at the National Museum (Yangon) on Pyay Road, Dagon Township, the President listened to briefings regarding visitor status, exhibition arrangements across galleries, conservation operations, efforts to submit the traditional culture of Myanmar Thanakha to the UNESCO list, collaborations with international museum organizations, and future action plans. In his instructions, he stated that through museum visits, young people will come to appreciate the value of history, inspiring patriotism and a dedication to protecting and safeguarding the nation, language, and religion, alongside giving other necessary guidance. Following this, the President toured and keenly observed each display exhibit individually.
