Thailand Accelerates New S-Curve Industrial Development Plan for Year-End Cabinet Submission

Thailand's Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) is accelerating the development of a new "S-Curve" industrial development plan, aiming to foster next-generation industries that will drive the nation's economic growth. The plan is slated for submission to the cabinet by the end of 2027. The S-Curve industries refer to sectors that the Thai government identifies as pillars for future economic growth, characterized by advanced technology and high added value. These typically include automotive, smart electronics, medical and wellness, agriculture and biotechnology, food processing, robotics, aerospace, biofuels and chemicals, the digital economy, and medical tourism. The objective is to transition from traditional economic models and enhance international competitiveness. The new plan intends to achieve industrial upgrading and sustainable growth by incorporating measures such as investment promotion, research and development support, human resource development, and deregulation for these S-Curve industries.
