Vietnamese NA Chairman to pay last respects to Lao NA President

Vietnam will observe two days of national mourning from August 10-11 for the passing of Comrade Xaysomphone Phomvihane, President of the National Assembly of Laos. The decision reflects deep condolences and respect for the contributions of the late leader. Separately, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam is scheduled for visits to Australia and New Zealand from August 9-14. These visits are expected to further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnerships with both nations. Specifically with Australia, the aim is to translate strategic ambitions into concrete outcomes, making ties deeper, more substantive, and more effective. As a member of ASEAN, Vietnam aims to make more proactive and substantive contributions to the regional community under the spirit of "growing alongside ASEAN." This reflects ASEAN's characteristic of unity in diversity, demonstrating Vietnam's diplomatic stance to contribute to regional peace, stability, cooperation, and development. Domestically, the Economic Police have been instructed to leverage scientific and technological advancements, enhance data analytics and digital investigation capabilities, and proactively identify risks to economic, financial, data, and supply chain security. This is a crucial initiative to ensure cybersecurity and economic stability as Vietnam continues its economic growth. Furthermore, a draft law amending administrative procedures and business conditions in the agriculture and environment sectors is being proposed, aimed at institutionalizing the Party's policy of deregulation and effective state governance. Under its one-party system, Vietnam is focusing on administrative reforms and fulfilling international commitments to balance economic growth with improving the lives of its citizens.
