Man Missing While Spearfishing Under Koh Po Bridge Found Deceased
The body of a man who went missing two days prior while spearfishing under the Koh Po bridge in Cambodia has been discovered by coastal security forces. The deceased will undergo an autopsy before being handed over to his family.
Cambodian coastal security forces, specifically the Frontline Command of the National Committee for Coastal and Maritime Security, have located the body of a man who disappeared two days prior while spearfishing under the Koh Po bridge. The search operation was conducted under the direct orders of Major General Ly Hout, Commander of the Frontline Command. At 6:30 AM on July 22, 2026, a joint force of eight personnel, led by Colonel Kuob Pin, Deputy Commander of the Intervention Naval Fleet, utilized two boats (RIHB No. 133 and a 60-horsepower boat) to continue the mission to find the victim. As a result, at 7:35 AM on the same day, the patrol force found the victim's body at coordinates Lat: 10°33'18"N, Long: 103°33'21"E, near the Koh Otress bridge. Authorities identified the deceased as Phan Sokheng, male, 32 years old. He had gone missing on July 20, 2026, after descending into the water for spearfishing under the Koh Po bridge. Currently, the body has been handed over to competent authorities, technical officials, and a medical team for autopsy procedures before being released to the family and relatives for traditional funeral arrangements.
