Kandal Province Announces Sub-District Administrative Appointments Amidst Reforms

Kandal Province, on July 20, 2026, inaugurated the new Deputy Governor of Leuk Daek District, with Governor Nut Putthadara presiding over the ceremony. The event was attended by representatives from the three branches of the armed forces, various departments, and district administrative officials. Governor Nut Putthadara stated that the appointment and transfer of officials are a normal part of public service and a response to the deep reforms being undertaken by the government of the 7th mandate of the National Assembly. He noted that based on qualifications, knowledge, experience, and past work, the provincial administration had proposed to the Ministry of Interior, which in turn proposed to the government, to transfer Mrs. Sem Chanthor from her role as Deputy Governor of Svay Teab District to become Deputy Governor of Leuk Daek District, replacing Mrs. Phal Kuinhy, who was transferred to Svay Teab District. The Deputy Governor also expressed his high praise and appreciation for the council, the administration, officials at all levels, armed forces, and citizens of Leuk Daek District for their solidarity and active efforts in implementing the government's political programs, which have driven the development and progress of the district in all sectors. He further acknowledged the authorities and armed forces for their concerted efforts in leading, managing, and developing the locality, including providing public services, local development, disaster relief, maintaining security, public order, and safety for the citizens. He specifically highlighted their proactive participation in implementing government measures. Governor Nut Putthadara urged the Leuk Daek District Council, Governor, Deputy Governors, officials, armed forces, and all citizens to continue to uphold and strengthen security, and to promote the "Safe Village-Commune-District" policy of the government more effectively. This includes preventing and suppressing crimes such as theft, robbery, drug trafficking, illegal gambling, and all other forms of offenses. He stressed the need for strict implementation of the law against technological fraud and the high recommendations of the Senate President and the Prime Minister. He requested the district council, governor, deputy governors, officials, armed forces, and all citizens of Leuk Daek District administration to provide support and cooperation to Mrs. Sem Chanthor, the newly transferred Deputy Governor, to jointly protect peace, stability, security, social order, and to work collaboratively for the continued progress of Leuk Daek District in all sectors.
