Two Thai nationals deported and handed over via Tachileik

Mekong, September 24 It has been learned that two Thai nationals, who were arrested for illegally entering Myanmar in Tachileik city, eastern Shan State, were deported yesterday (September 23) and handed over to Thailand. The handover took place at the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge (No. 1) in Tarok Ward, Tachileik city, and a joint team including officials from the Immigration Department and the Anti-Narcotics Force handed them over to Thailand. The individuals handed over were Mr. Thinakorn Sonpinkam (aka Mew) and Mr. Korakoch Boonming (aka M), who were deported under Section 7(2) of the Myanmar Immigration Act (Provisional Provisions) of 1947. It is understood that they were received by a team led by Deputy Inspector Pol.Capt. Songsak Pakiang of Chiang Rai Immigration on the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge (No. 1). The two Thai nationals were arrested by a joint team on August 22 on Home Economics Club Road, Mekong Ward, Tachileik city, and were reportedly wanted by Thailand.
