Vietnam to Enhance Mobilization of Overseas Vietnamese Community

Vietnamese President and General Secretary To Lam, during his state visit to Russia, met with the Vietnamese community there, emphasizing the country's policy to more effectively mobilize the resources of overseas Vietnamese. Lam highlighted Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW on overseas Vietnamese affairs, recently issued by the Politburo. He stated that in the time ahead, the Party and State will continue to improve institutions and adopt comprehensive, open, and breakthrough mechanisms and policies to connect with, attract, and effectively mobilize the resources of overseas Vietnamese, particularly intellectuals, experts, entrepreneurs, scientists, and youth. This resolution positions the contributions of overseas Vietnamese as an essential element for national development and aims to protect their rights and foster a sense of belonging to their homeland. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the Party and State represent the collective will of the people and adopt policies to mobilize all resources for national goal achievement, with the mobilization of overseas compatriots seen as part of this effort. Lam's visit to Russia aims to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia. In particular, exchanges involving the youth are expected to become a new driving force for bilateral relations.
