Vietnamese Top Leader Attends Vietnam-Russia Cultural Exchange Event in Russia

As part of his state visit to the Russian Federation, on the morning of September 8 (local time), General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President To Lam, along with his wife and a high-level delegation, attended the opening program of the 'Vietnam-Russia Heritage Space and Cultural Connection' at the S.A. Gerasimov Russian National Film University (VGIK). This program is designed to share cultural heritage between Vietnam and Russia and to deepen mutual understanding. During his visit, General Secretary and President To Lam also held a meeting with Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President and Chairman of the Russian Federal Maritime Council. In Moscow, he laid wreaths at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, honoring Vietnam's historical contributions in Russia. He also engaged with embassy staff and the Vietnamese community in Russia, met with representatives from the Russian Veterans Association and the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association, and held discussions with the Chairman of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF). These activities are understood to aim at maintaining and developing the traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and Russia, as well as promoting mutual understanding among the peoples of both countries through cultural exchange. Vietnam, under its one-party system, promotes a socialist-oriented market economy and tends to prioritize relations with traditional friendly nations such as Russia and China in its foreign policy. The attendance of the top leader at this cultural exchange event signifies the importance of culture in bilateral relations.
