Cambodia: Women and Children Committee Distributes Aid to Needy Families

In Kampong Krabau commune, Kampong Cham province, members of the Women and Children Consultative Committee distributed aid, including food and cash, to three impoverished families. This initiative was led by the provincial committee with cooperation from relevant ministries and aid organizations. The recipients included a 17-year-old boy with congenital disabilities, a 34-year-old widower with a disability in his right leg, and a 60-year-old man and his 56-year-old wife, all residing in Sneang Krabey village. Each family received 30 kilograms of rice, a box of instant noodles, a bundle of fish sauce, a bundle of soy sauce, a bundle of canned fish, a sarong, a krama, a packet of detergent, and 300,000 Cambodian Riel (approximately 100 USD) in cash. Of this amount, 100,000 Riel was contributed by Ms. Yos Thanary, a Member of Parliament for Kampong Cham constituency, and the remaining 200,000 Riel by the provincial Women and Children Consultative Committee. Ms. Lum Kanthary, Vice Chairperson of the provincial committee, expressed hope that the aid would provide temporary relief to the families' hardships. Ms. Sim Sovannarith, Chairperson of the committee, reiterated the committee's commitment to consistently supporting the well-being of residents, particularly impoverished women and children. The activity aligns with the directives of Prime Minister Hun Manet and Kampong Cham Provincial Governor to provide swift and timely assistance to families facing difficulties.
