Phnom Penh Authorities Bust Online Scam Operation, Arrest 9 Bangladesh Nationals

Phnom Penh authorities in Dangkao district have busted an online scam operation, arresting nine individuals of Bangladeshi nationality. The operation, which also uncovered counterfeit US dollars and various items used for fraudulent activities, took place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at house number 25B, Street 02B, Mol village, Sangkat Dangkao, Khan Dangkao, Phnom Penh. According to the authorities, the nine foreign suspects were engaged in or were in the process of committing online scams. During the operation, law enforcement seized several items, including six All-in-One computers, 15 mobile phones, and a quantity of counterfeit US dollar bills. Currently, the nine suspects, along with the seized evidence, have been transferred to the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Headquarters to build a case and will be further sent to the Prosecutor's Office of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for legal proceedings.
