Gibran Offers Jakarta Referral for Students in Karo Food Poisoning Case

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has offered to facilitate referrals to Jakarta for students who are victims of suspected food poisoning from the "Makan Bergizi Gratis" (MBG) program in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, should they require advanced medical treatment. This statement was made by Gibran during his visit to the students still undergoing treatment at Efarina Etaham Hospital in Karo Regency on Friday (11/9). Gibran stated that the government would ensure all medical needs of the victims are met, including patients requiring referral to hospitals in Jakarta or Medan. "Whether a referral to Jakarta or Medan is needed, we will fulfill it all," he said. Gibran also urged North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution to ensure that all costs for examinations, treatments, and care for the victims are covered by the government until they are declared fully recovered. The visit was conducted to directly assess the condition of students who experienced poisoning after consuming MBG meals on August 13.
