Prabowo on KPK Investigations: 'If You Have Evidence, Proceed'

President Prabowo Subianto stated that one of the reasons for cabinet reshuffles is for accountability over mistakes that must be accounted for. He revealed that he instructed the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to proceed with investigations into his subordinates if they possess evidence. Prabowo explained that cabinet reshuffles are sometimes necessary for promotion and to ensure "the right man in the right place," emphasizing competence. He also noted that if someone is not suitable for their position or has issues, they must be replaced. The President recounted an instance where KPK investigators approached him with information about alleged misconduct by a certain official. "If you have evidence, proceed," Prabowo told the KPK. He mentioned a case involving one of his deputy ministers, stating that it was that individual's responsibility. This statement underscores Prabowo's stance against corruption, indicating his willingness to allow legal proceedings against his own subordinates if evidence warrants it.
