Kandal Red Cross Provides Aid to Wife of Frontline Soldier

On the afternoon of Thursday, September 17, 2026, Ms. Pang Dani, Deputy Governor of Kandal Province and Permanent Vice-Chairwoman of the Cambodian Red Cross Kandal Provincial Branch, along with her working group, visited and provided aid to the wife of a frontline soldier. The recipient was Ms. Tong Soriya, 33, residing in Rorng Leu village, Rorng commune, Kampong Siem district, Kandal province. She is the wife of Lieutenant Hun Pakkina, 40, serving in the 21st Brigade in the Prasat Khnar region. She gave birth to her third child, a son, at the Kandal Provincial Referral Hospital. The birth was a normal delivery, and both mother and child are in good health and safe. The hospital provided all services for delivery and post-natal care free of charge. Ms. Pang Dani presented donations from the Cambodian Red Cross Kandal Provincial Branch, which included 25 kilograms of rice, 1 case of mineral water, 1 bundle of fish sauce, 1 case of instant noodles, a kit, a Mong textile, a blanket, a sarong, a basket of fruit, and a cash donation of 200,000 Riel (approximately $50 USD). This initiative aims to express gratitude to soldiers serving on the front lines and their families, fostering a sense of solidarity within the community.
