Vietnam Strengthens School-Police Cooperation to Combat Student Violence

Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security have jointly announced a cooperation plan aimed at ensuring school safety and the prevention, early detection, and prompt handling of student violence, child abuse, and legal violations. This plan seeks to strengthen information exchange and coordination among schools, local police, families, healthcare institutions, and various organizations. The ministries aim to establish a collaborative process between schools, local police, families, healthcare institutions, and various organizations to identify risks of school violence and legal violations by students early on and prevent them, thereby contributing to the creation of a safe and healthy educational environment. Specifically, schools and local police will establish a regular coordination mechanism through periodic meetings and necessary consultations to exchange information on security situations and any unusual signs exhibited by students. They will also maintain direct communication channels to promptly address incidents involving students. This strengthened cooperation is a significant step for Vietnam in ensuring the safety and healthy development of students in educational settings amidst its rapid economic growth. Within the framework of its one-party system, where maintaining social order is prioritized, addressing issues in the education sector is also being tackled as a national priority.
