PHNOM PENH, Aug 9, 2026 (KPT) — Business leaders from Hong Kong and China’s Greater Bay Area are weighing investment across Cambodia’s growth sectors, underscoring rising regional interest in the kingdom’s expanding economy. Prime Minister Hun Manet on Friday received a delegation of about 20 companies from the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Alliance at the Peace Palace. Led by Jonathan K.S. Choi, chairman of Sunwah Group and head of both business associations, the delegation voiced strong interest in Cambodia’s potential and praised its rapid development. The group said its visit aimed to identify opportunities in infrastructure, real estate, banking, technology, e‑commerce, energy, transport, aviation, agriculture, education and healthcare. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the interest, citing reforms, streamlined procedures and tax incentives designed to attract investors. He also highlighted efforts to boost road, rail, waterway and air connectivity to cut logistics costs. He said investment in Cambodia would give firms access to regional and global supply chains through bilateral and regional trade deals, and pledged to maintain a resilient and competitive environment.
