Central Kalimantan Police Pursue Four Fugitives in Katingan Police Assault Case

PALANGKA RAYA - Central Kalimantan Police have formed a special team to hunt down four people who are on the wanted list (DPO) in the alleged assault case against the Katingan Police Narcotics Unit personnel in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Central Katingan District. "From the results of the investigators' examination, there are still four more that we are pursuing related to this incident," said Central Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan in Palangka Raya, Thursday, July 23. He explained that until now investigators had named nine suspects in the case. Eight of them are men, namely Salias Ateng, IMP alias Roby, N, ARS alias Yadi, ML, B, R alias Busu, and P. In addition to the eight suspects, investigators also named a woman named DN as a suspect. "We have also formed a special team to hunt down the perpetrators who have not been caught," he said. The special team formed by the Central Kalimantan Police is working with the support of the National Police Headquarters and the regional authorities to narrow the scope of the fugitives and accelerate the arrest process. Investigators are also continuing to develop examinations of the suspects who have been secured to uncover the role of each perpetrator and the possibility of the involvement of other parties in the case. Iwan emphasized that the pursuit of the four fugitives would continue until all perpetrators were secured and processed in accordance with applicable laws. According to him, the disclosure of the case is not only aimed at arresting all perpetrators of the attack on the police, but also uncovering the network of narcotics trafficking which is suspected to be related to the events in Tumbang Kalemei Village. "Our commitment is clear, we will pursue all the perpetrators involved and process them according to the applicable law. There is no room for perpetrators to avoid accountability for their actions," said Iwan Kurniawan.
