Bangsamoro Communities Office Opens Outside BARMM in Lanao del Norte

Umel. MAIGO, Lanao del Norte — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) established the Office for Other Bangsamoro Communities (OOBC) in Barangay Segapud here on Wednesday. During the inauguration ceremony, Noron Andan, OOBC executive director, said the branch will serve both Muslims and Christians from BARMM living across Region 10 or Northern Mindanao. The field office will be managed by Mohammad Hamid Bato, OOBC community affairs officer. The agency earlier set up a field office in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur. During the opening of the OOBC here, 150 Muslim and Christian beneficiaries from four communities received 25 kilos of rice, medicines, vitamins and seeds, aside from free medical checkup. Representatives from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Services and Development, and Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform joined the activity. Bato said they also distributed crutches and wheelchairs to about 35 individuals. Dr. Alinadir Minalang, chief of the Integrated Provincial Health Office of Lanao del Sur and representative of the Ministry of Health, said the OOBC is ready to provide services to Bangsamoro people living outside the core territories of BARMM.
