Martyrs' Day, which all Myanmar citizens take seriously, is approaching. The independence leaders who sacrificed their lives for the country fell on July 19. How will the dictators who ordered the destruction of statues of national heroes, including the independence leader General Aung San, celebrate Martyrs' Day? With what mindset will they lay wreaths and flower baskets in front of the memorial tombs of the national heroes? These acts of destruction are not merely the destruction of an object, but a deliberate attempt to crush the historical heritage of Myanmar's independence architects and the spirit of the people. During the "Rose Campaign," a birthday campaign for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the daughter of General Aung San, some flower vendors were so overwhelmed by fear that they dared not even sell roses. In the domain of the dictators, people had to secretly wear roses, share them, and offer them to pagodas within their homes. They knew for sure that if they did not engulf the people in fear, the streets and crowded places would have become like a field of roses on June 19, the birthday of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
