Vietnam Launches Public Consultation on Draft Land Law via VNeID App

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, has announced the commencement of public consultation on the draft revised Land Law through the national identification application, VNeID. The draft revised Land Law proposes numerous significant changes, including policies on land pricing, compensation, resettlement, contract notarization, and procedural reforms. Recognizing the direct impact of these revisions on citizens' rights and interests, the government aims to gather broad public feedback. Materials for the consultation, comprising the full draft of the revised Land Law and a list of issues requiring public opinion, are available on the VNeID application. Citizens can access these documents and submit their feedback through the app. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the process of collecting public opinions through official channels plays a crucial role in ensuring the legitimacy of policy decisions and maintaining social stability. Land issues, in particular, are a matter of significant economic and social concern for citizens, and their revision garners considerable attention. In Vietnam's continuously growing economy, land use and management are fundamental to economic activities and also influence the investment climate.
