Toyota Recalls Prado in Vietnam Over Dashboard Warning Light Issues
Toyota Vietnam has announced a recall for 563 Land Cruiser Prado units manufactured between 2024 and 2025 due to a software defect causing dashboard warning lights to not illuminate. The issue will be addressed with a software update.
Toyota Vietnam announced on June 30 a recall for the Land Cruiser Prado in the domestic market. The recall affects 563 Prado units manufactured between July 17, 2024, and June 23, 2025, which have a software defect in the 12.3-inch instrument cluster located behind the steering wheel. This software issue may cause the 3D graphic display area to not function correctly when the vehicle starts. As a direct consequence of this defect, critical warning lights such as engine oil pressure, coolant temperature, and charging indicators, along with other warning information, may not be displayed on the instrument cluster. This poses a potential risk of drivers being unaware of the vehicle's operational status. Toyota Vietnam will address this by updating the control software for the instrument cluster on affected vehicles. The estimated time for inspection and update is 0.9 to 1.6 hours per vehicle. The recall program will commence on June 30, 2026, at all Toyota dealerships nationwide. All costs associated with the inspection and software update will be free of charge. Toyota Vietnam advises owners of affected vehicles to promptly bring their cars to Toyota dealerships for technical servicing to ensure safety and protect their rights. For vehicles imported through unofficial channels that fall within the recall scope and are requested by the owner, Toyota Vietnam will conduct inspections and updates free of charge after confirming the information.
