The Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw, U Khin Yi, met with the Rector of Naypyitaw State Academy, Dr. Nu Nu Lwin, along with professors, faculty members, and over 400 students, who came to observe the 15th day of the second regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw, Monday evening after the Hluttaw session, at the hall of the Hluttaw building in Nay Pyi Taw. During the meeting, a video clip titled "Future Youth: A Brick and a Grain of Sand" was shown to the students. Afterward, the Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw delivered an opening address. He warmly welcomed the students from various disciplines of Naypyitaw State Academy who came to observe the Hluttaw session. He expressed his belief that they would benefit appropriately from the opportunity to study what is worth learning in today's session. He explained that a Hluttaw is a place where representatives are assembled through an electoral system, a system that involves voting, in the process of building a democratic system in a country. People from constituencies elect individuals they favor and those who can carry and work for their regional interests, and the place where such elected representatives are gathered is called the Hluttaw. He continued by explaining the formation of the Pyithu Hluttaw and the Amyotha Hluttaw, the primary duties of the Hluttaw, and the representation of Hluttaw representatives for the people. He also emphasized that for the development of the nation, the legislative, executive, and judicial branches must work together in a balanced manner. Afterward, Dr. Nu Nu Lwin, Rector of Naypyitaw State Academy, presented commemorative gifts to the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw. The Speaker then reciprocated with commemorative gifts. Following that, the attending students raised questions regarding the role of the Pyithu Hluttaw, the parliamentary voting system, legislative procedures, and education-related matters, and the Speaker responded to them. After the meeting, the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker cordially met and greeted the Rector, professors, teachers, and students from Naypyitaw State Academy individually, it’s reported.
