Marcos Urges Coast Guard Officers to Lead by Example, Uphold Integrity

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday urged newly promoted Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) flag officers to lead by example and uphold the highest standards of integrity in their service. During the oath-taking ceremony for 21 newly promoted officers, including one vice admiral, two rear admirals, and 18 commodores, Marcos highlighted the crucial and complex role of the PCG, particularly in the West Philippine Sea. The President called on the promoted officers to recognize the responsibilities that come with their positions and to live up to the trust of the Filipino people. He emphasized that the PCG is indispensable in protecting the nation's sovereignty, security, and the lives of its citizens. Marcos specifically commended the PCG's contributions to enhancing maritime domain awareness and maintaining an order based on international law.
