Indonesia to Mandate Halal Certification from October, Including Imports

The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has expressed support for mandatory Halal certification starting in October. This will require Halal certification for all products sold domestically, as well as imported goods. This move is seen as aiming to protect the rights of Muslim consumers and enhance Indonesia's international standing in the Halal market.
