Vietnam News Agency Embraces Digital Transformation for New Era
The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) has officially launched "Chuyen dong so" (Digital Transformation Updates), a dedicated information portal focusing on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, marking a strategic move to adapt to the evolving media landscape and cover regional integration.
The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) officially launched “Chuyen dong so” (Digital Transformation Updates), a dedicated, modern and user-friendly information portal covering science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, on June 19. The new platform was unveiled at the 2026 National Press Festival that opened in Hai Phong city on the same day. Despite growing competition in the publishing market, changing reading habits and the rise of digital media, the VNA Publishing House has remained committed to producing high-quality political, social and photo books, prioritising content quality, ideological value and professional standards over quantity. This digital transformation initiative aims to enhance the VNA's capacity to provide information in the region, which is undergoing rapid opening-up and integration. Participants highlighted the need to increase coverage of the region's progress and achievements in cooperation among economies across various fields, which is crucial for creating a favourable environment for regional development. In Vietnam's one-party system, state-run media like VNA play a crucial role in conveying government policies and development goals to the public and shaping public opinion. Expanding digital platforms is intended to increase the speed and reach of information dissemination, thereby enhancing public engagement. For Vietnam, a country experiencing continuous economic growth, digitalization is becoming indispensable across all sectors. VNA's move aligns with the broader strategy of the Vietnamese government to promote digital transformation domestically and strengthen information linkages with the international community.
