Vietnam Fosters Spirit of Gratitude and Solidarity Through National Initiatives

As the Lunar New Year (Tet) approaches, various initiatives are unfolding across Vietnam to foster the spirit of solidarity and gratitude among its people. On January 4, the Hanoi Red Cross Society organized its annual charity market program, providing support to 2,000 individuals. This underscores Vietnam's emphasis on the well-being of its citizens and overall social stability as the nation enters a new development phase, aiming for double-digit growth and strategic milestones by 2030 and 2045. Furthermore, the ongoing recovery of martyrs' remains serves to reaffirm the profound gratitude for those who sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom. This effort encourages search teams to persist in locating fallen soldiers, embodying Vietnam's time-honored tradition of "returning favors." In parallel, efforts to strengthen engagement with overseas Vietnamese (OVs) are gaining momentum. Politburo Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW, adopted on August 2, 2026, prioritizes the establishment of mechanisms to unlock and effectively utilize the vast potential of the Vietnamese community abroad. OVs are seen as crucial contributors, bringing not only capital but also knowledge, technology, management experience, and access to international markets, particularly in areas such as high technology, digital transformation, AI, the green economy, environmental protection, and education and training. These initiatives are vital components in Vietnam's pursuit of socio-economic development under its one-party system, aimed at garnering public support and cooperation. Enhancing national solidarity is expected to serve as a driving force for achieving state objectives. Concurrently, social inclusiveness will likely be increasingly emphasized to ensure the benefits of economic growth are broadly distributed throughout society.
