President Prabowo Allocates Rp 760 Billion in Emergency Funds for Forest Fire Prevention in 7 Provinces

President Prabowo Subianto has increased the allocation of the Unexpected Expenditure Budget (BTT) by Rp 760 billion to support efforts in combating forest and land fires (karhutla) across the country. This emergency funding is designated for 7 provinces and 35 regencies/cities that have been affected by the fires. The Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, confirmed that this allocation demonstrates the central government's full support for local governments in responding to disaster emergencies. "Regarding the issue of forest and land fires, the President has added a total of Rp 760 billion for handling karhutla, for 7 provinces and 35 regencies and cities," Tito stated at the Regional Government Appreciation Night event in South Jakarta on Thursday (17/9/2026). In addition to the karhutla assistance, Tito revealed that President Prabowo also doubled the BTT funds for disaster management in eight regencies in the Flores region, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Each of these regencies will receive an additional Rp 20 billion in BTT, a doubling from the initial proposal of Rp 10 billion. "My proposal was actually Rp 10 billion, and he said, 'Double it, Rp 20 billion,'" Tito disclosed. With the additional Rp 20 billion for each area, the total BTT allocation specifically for the eight regencies in Flores reaches Rp 160 billion.
