Vietnamese Culture Showcased Internationally Through Diverse Events

Vietnam is actively showcasing its rich cultural heritage and modern appeal on the international stage. At a cultural carnival held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Vietnamese booths attracted significant interest, particularly from young Cambodians, promoting Vietnam's land, people, and businesses, while fostering opportunities for people-to-people interaction within the ASEAN Community. In sports, Vietnamese athletes are achieving remarkable results in international competitions. In gymnastics, the Vietnamese team secured the top spot in their team form performance with precise execution, flawless synchronization, and exceptional artistic impression. In Taekwondo, athlete Bui Ngoc Nhi defeated her Singaporean opponent to clinch a bronze medal. The youth basketball program also received an encouraging bronze medal, reflecting early results from efforts to develop young players. Culturally, Vietnam's traditional dress, Ao Dai, was showcased at Ao Dai Fashion Week London 2026, focusing on designers, collections, fabrics, craftsmanship, and creative interpretations. This initiative aims to place Vietnam's traditional attire within the language and professional standards of the international fashion industry. Furthermore, Vietnam was featured as an honored guest country alongside Japan at the fourth edition of the Maintenon/Pierres Japan Festival in France. A dialogue on safeguarding Vietnam's cultural heritage, co-organized by the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee, and the Ninh Binh provincial People’s Committee, served as an important policy forum to discuss approaches to preserving heritage authenticity amidst urbanization, climate change, and tourism development. Moreover, the designation of Vietnam Culture Day on November 24 aims to provide opportunities for the public to participate in, create, and enjoy cultural activities, spreading positive values and fostering pride in Vietnamese culture. These endeavors demonstrate Vietnam's commitment to establishing its position on the international stage not just as an economic powerhouse, but as a nation with cultural richness and diversity.
