To ensure food security and market stability in Yangon Region, the State Counsellor has instructed to vigorously implement agricultural and livestock zones, focusing on increasing production, boosting MSME-based production, and effectively utilizing land. The State Counsellor gave these instructions on July 18 while inspecting the implementation of agricultural and livestock zones in Yangon Region. He stated that Yangon, with a population of 7 million, needs to plan and work to produce sufficient quantities of fish, meat, and rice. The State Counsellor said that in addition to the Shwe Mu Yin fish farm and the Nyaung Nyepin agricultural and livestock zone within Yangon Region, it is necessary to effectively implement the livestock zones in Shwepythar, Hmawbi, Htantabin, and Twante. He also stated that it is necessary to work on the systematic development of livestock feed production and feed mixing factories for the long-term success of livestock businesses. He also said that due to the limited expansion of land, it is necessary to transition to an industrial farming system and focus on increasing production. Furthermore, he instructed to promote MSME-based businesses and support the domestic production of agricultural inputs, factory spare parts, and technological products. The State Counsellor, Min Aung Hlaing, instructed that production plans must be successfully implemented by accurately calculating demand and supply, and that the regional government must lead the implementation. At the same time, efforts must be made to simultaneously focus on increasing production, reducing production costs, and stabilizing the market.
