Cambodia-US Chambers of Commerce Discuss Strengthening Economic Ties

The President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, Kit Meng, met with an American business delegation led by Chan Sokvasana, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (ACBC), to discuss further strengthening and deepening business, trade, and investment relations between the two countries. Ms. Sokvasana expressed her strong desire to reinforce and expand business, trade, and investment ties between Cambodia and the United States, and indicated that she would lead subsequent American business delegations to Cambodia. The delegation comprised major companies interested in investing in Cambodia's key sectors, including logistics, infrastructure, manufacturing, and agriculture. Ms. Sokvasana expressed strong confidence that through strong relations with the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, the ACBC can enhance cooperation and connect business people from both countries more closely and effectively. In response, Mr. Kit Meng welcomed the initiative and commitment of the ACBC to help strengthen the economic bridge connecting Cambodia and the United States. He highlighted the robust and long-standing bilateral relations spanning 76 years (1950-2026) and recalled significant historical events between the two nations. Mr. Meng also expressed gratitude for the support of President Donald Trump on the Kuala Lumpur Peace Agreement signed on October 26, 2025. Mr. Meng further added that the United States is one of Cambodia's largest export markets and a significant trading partner, with bilateral trade volume steadily increasing. The presence of world-class American companies such as Coca-Cola, Ford, Chevron, Caltex, and GE clearly demonstrates confidence in Cambodia's business environment, which is currently peaceful, politically stable, and progressing towards its vision of becoming a high-income country by 2050. Both parties expressed strong commitment and confidence that the visit of the American business delegation will serve as a powerful catalyst for opening a new chapter of cooperation, establishing long-term investment partnerships, and bringing mutual economic benefits to the business communities of both countries.
