Bandung City Finalizes Preparations for 216th Anniversary Plenary Session

Bandung, Indonesia – The Bandung City Council Secretariat is in the final stages of preparing for the plenary session to commemorate the 216th anniversary of Bandung City (HJKB ke-216), scheduled for September 25, 2026. Yasa Hanafiah, the Secretary of the Bandung City Council, stated that preparations are complete in all aspects, from the session's agenda to security measures, following the directives of the City Council leadership. To confirm these arrangements, the secretariat convened a coordination meeting with representatives from the Bandung City Police, the military (Koramil), and various regional agencies at the City Council Auditorium. "Although it is an annual event, we are ensuring thorough preparations are made in accordance with the directives from all City Council leaders," Hanafiah said. The security detail will involve collaboration between the police, military, local police (Satpol PP), and the City Council's internal security personnel (Pamdal). The anniversary session is scheduled to commence at 10:00 AM WIB. However, the exact start time may be adjusted depending on the progress of preceding events at the Bandung City Hall. The Mayor of Bandung, along with other officials, is expected to travel from City Hall to the City Council building using "Bandros," a traditional Bandung public transport vehicle. Furthermore, the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, is also slated to attend the commemoration. Other regional heads from across West Java have also been invited to the event. Hanafiah extended his apologies to the public for any potential disruption to daily activities caused by the event and its security arrangements around the City Council building.
